The Taurus Judge has been a staple in the American concealed-carry market for two decades, and for 2026, the platform receives its first significant update. The New Taurus Judge enters the market with a redesigned trigger guard, updated sights, and a reshaped cylinder release aimed at faster handling.

Trigger Guard and Sight Upgrades

The most immediate visual change on the New Taurus Judge is the squared-off trigger guard, replacing the round guard found on earlier models. Inside the guard, Taurus reengineered the trigger shoe to a flatter, more angular profile, which increases leverage and smooths double-action pulls. Perhaps the most significant optical change is the swap from the traditional gutter-sight arrangement to a dovetailed rear sight paired with a bright fiber-optic front sight. This combination improves target acquisition and aligns the platform more closely with modern defensive expectations.

Ergonomic Refinements and Controls

Taurus redesigned the cylinder-release latch on the left side of the frame, sculpting an ergonomic profile that falls within easy reach of the shooter’s strong-hand thumb. This adjustment allows for quicker cylinder exchange, reducing reload time on a platform where every second counts. The grip scales have also been reshaped for a more secure hold, while the hammer spur was lowered and widened.
