What Is Being Recalled

A recall announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) covers approximately 16,170 Hatsan Blitz and Blitz 777 air rifles. The recalled rifles were sold nationwide at sporting goods stores and gun shops, online and through catalog sales between February 2020 and March 2026 for $800 to $1,100.

The gas-operated, select-fire, pre-charged pneumatic pellet rifles come in .22, .25 and .30 calibers. They are black, with a synthetic stock, a carbon fiber air tank mounted beneath the barrel and a rotary magazine feed.

The Hatsan logo and model name “BLITZ” or “BLITZ 777” appear on the left side of the receiver. Serial numbers and manufacturing dates are engraved on the right side of the receiver above the bolt. The supplied report does not specify affected serial number ranges or manufacturing date limits.

Sales channels included Hatsan’s website, Utah Airguns, Airgun Depot and Pyramyd Air.

The Issue

The air rifles can fire unexpectedly when the bolt is released before the rifle is fully cocked. This poses a risk of serious injury or death.

The CPSC received one report of an accidental misfire. No injuries were reported.

What Owners Should Do

Stop using the recalled air rifles immediately and make sure they are unloaded, as directed by the CPSC. Contact HatsanUSA for the free remedy:

HatsanUSA will ship a free replacement trigger assembly with instructions. Customers who do not want to replace the assembly themselves can receive a prepaid shipping label to return the rifle for inspection and replacement.
